Description
This early morning view of this rugged location in Wester Ross was taken from the steep Bealach na Bà pass. Amazingly, the remote loch was used for North Sea oil rig construction. In 1977 over 3,000 people were working here, housed in temporary accommodation on site and in two retired liners moored in the loch. The largest moveable manmade object, the 600,000-tonne Ninian Central Platform, was made here.
