Description
The Chadwick Centre at the International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) on Canwick Hill outside Lincoln, named after the designer of the Lancaster bomber, Roy Chadwick. The centre, designed by Place Architecture, tells the stories of members of RAF Bomber Command, ground crew and civilians affected by the bombing campaigns during the Second World War. The award-winning spire, made from weathering steel, is 102ft (31.1m) high, the wingspan of the Avro Lancaster bomber and 16ft (5m) wide at the base, the same as a Lancaster wing.
A donation from the sale of this image will go to the IBCC.
