Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

RAF Westland Whirlwind pilot Arthur 'Art' Brunet of 137 Squadron in a typical action against German e-boats in the English Channel in 1943. Brunet, a Canadian, is depicted in aircraft P7046, coded SF-B, which had his wife's nickname, "Lennie", painted on the side of the cockpit.

The distinctive, twin-engined Whirlwind was, when it entered service, at least as fast as any other fighter but a lack of development meant it never fulfilled its potential and kept being superseded by aircraft that were better at the various tasks for which it was suited. It operated in the fighter bomber role from 1940 to 1943.
