Description
The Short Stirling was the first heavy bomber to enter service with the Royal Air Force in WW2 and remained easily the biggest. Although superseded later in the war Stirlings continued to be used in various specialist roles, including glider towing, mine laying and supply drops. This Flight Artworks depiction shows a Mk III version with Bristol Hercules XVI engines on an early morning flight over the north west of England.
