Description
A very English spring scene: open woodland dense with bluebells, with rolling parkland beyond. This is on the edge of Hill-House Wood, from which the nearby village of West Bergholt took its Anglo-Saxon name, Bergholta, or 'wood on a hill'. The landscape around here is typical of that featured in the works of painters such as John Constable.
